A bowl of Popcorn is one of the best finger snacks that one could have for a meeting or a movie. Popped in no time and prepped with fewer ingredients. Kids especially love preparing these popcorns freshly at home. People mostly prepare popcorn at home using a pressure cooker since everybody has one to make these popcorns. It’s even ideal to make them using your microwave oven in just 3 minutes.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

  • Preheated Microwave oven
  • A bowl or a brown paper cover or parchment paper
  • Salted Butter
  • Popcorn Kernels
  • Seasoning as per choice

Let’s get started…!

STEP 1:

Firstly, let’s have the Popcorn kernels ready. Either popcorn kernels alone can be used or else they can be tossed with salted butter. If you prefer the popcorns to taste salty, then an extra pinch of salt can be added. Once tossed well with butter, the mixture is ready.

STEP 2:

  • Method 1: Toss the mixture into the brown cover and twist the edges. Ensure that the edges are tight so that the popcorns don’t fly out.
  • Method 2: We can get to make them also by putting the kernels into a glass bowl. We need to ensure that the glass bowl is microwave-friendly. Cover the bowl with a heavy ceramic plate.
  • Method 3: Another method to try with a bowl and parchment paper covering the bowl. Secure it with a rubber band and poke vent holes on the top with a knife.

STEP 3:

Once done, the kernels are ready to go into the oven. Fix the timer on High for three minutes, the time taken for all the popcorn to pop would vary from 3 to 4 minutes. The popping of the corns depends on the quality as well. Always we need to make sure in purchasing good quality dry kernels.

Now this stage is thrilling because we get to hear the sound of the kernels popping loud…but we need to ensure that all kernels are being popped well. Stop the microwave once you hear the popping of the kernels slowing down. Overcooking may cause them to be burnt.

STEP 4:

Once you are done, remove the popcorn from the oven and make sure to handle them safely as the cover might feel hot and even while opening the cover as it can emit hot steam that might hurt us. It is also important to make sure that someone is present by the microwave during the preparation. Do not leave the microwave unattended during your preparation time.

Now we have our mouth-watering healthy snack ready to be served in a bowl. Popcorn is preferred not much because they are prepared in a short span, they are whole grain and, are rich in fiber.

VARIETIES OF POPCORN

CARAMEL POPCORN

Just tell me who would say no to this popcorn…Nobody!
The sense of tasting the caramelized popcorn is an amazing feeling. You must definitely try it. You will like it. The ingredients are very simple and the time spent on its preparation is less.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of sugar (required as per your preferred sweetness)
  • 1 ½ melted butter
  • Prepared popped popcorn

Method:

  • Caramelize the sugar by adding the sugar into a heated pan.
  • Add one cup of water.
  • Keep mixing the mixture on a slow flame.
  • After the mixture thickens, add the butter and mix well.
  • Add the popcorn mixture to the pan and mix.
  • Switch off the stove and transfer the mixture to a tray.
  • Separate the popcorn sticking onto each other and leave it aside to cool down and dry.
  • Serve it in a bowl.

CHOCOLATE POPCORN

Can you believe that such a flavor exists and that you are going to try them for the sake of the chocolate in case you are a lover of chocolates?
I can’t wait to tell you how to make such a delicious snack. Let me tell you that there are two types of chocolate popcorn to try. One variety is prepared using Milk chocolate and the other is made using white chocolate.

1. MILK (brown color) CHOCOLATE POPCORN:

(Please note that Dark chocolate is also brown in color but Milk chocolate will look like Diary milk)

Ingredients:

  • A reasonable quantity of melted milk chocolate
  • Prepared popped popcorn

Method:

  • Put all the popcorn into the bowl and add the melted chocolate.
  • Mix well using a spatula.
  • Spread the mixture onto a tray.
  • Separate the popcorn sticking from each other and leave it aside to cool down and dry.
  • Serve it in a bowl.

1. OREO WHITE CHOCOLATE POPCORN:

Ingredients:

  • A reasonable quantity of melted white chocolate
  • 4-5 Oreo Biscuits
  • Melted butter
  • Prepared popped popcorn

Method:

  • Crush the Oreo biscuits and make them powdered. Do not powder them using a mixer as we need the texture of the powdered biscuits to be a little crunchy.
  • Mix the melted chocolate, the melted butter and, the powdered Oreo biscuits smoothly.
  • Keep the popcorn ready in a bowl
  • Add 2 tsp. of oil to the popcorn and mix
  • Add the melted chocolate, the melted butter and, the powdered Oreo biscuits mixture to the bowl and mix well
  • Spread the mixture onto a tray
  • Separate the popcorn sticking onto each other and leave it aside to cool down and dry
    Ready to serve!

1. PAPRIKA POPCORN

Let’s see another delicious popcorn variety. I would say that this is one of my most preferred and I love the flavor. Such a delicious one cannot be made to wait.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp. Paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp. Onion powder
  • 1 tsp. Refined oil
  • Prepared popped popcorn

Method:

  • Add the paprika, salt, onion powder and mix well.
  • Put all the popcorn into the bowl and add the oil.
  • Add the paprika mixture to the bowl and stir well.

1. ITALIAN POPCORN

Who can say no to a richly flavored Italian seasoned popcorn? Italian Popcorn is a must-try recipe and anyone will crave it.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp. of Oregano, basil, garlic powder and, oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Prepared popped popcorn

Method:

  • Add the Oregano, basil, garlic powder and mix
  • Put all the popcorn into the bowl and add the oil
  • Add the Oregano, basil, garlic powder mixture to the bowl and stir well using a spatula.
  • Serve them fresh

Another crispy and tasty popcorn variety is Nacho cheese popcorn. The name for sure would have revealed to you what it could be made of.

1. NACHO CHEESE POPCORN

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of Nacho chips (crushed and powdered handmade)
  • 2-3 tsp. oil
  • Prepared popped popcorn

Method:

  • Put all the popcorn into the bowl
  • Add 2 tsp of oil to the bowl
  • Add the powdered Nacho chips and mix well

The Last and final popcorn we are going to meet is the ultimate Honey Mustard popcorn.

  • Put all the popcorn into the bowl
  • Mix the mustard sauce, honey vinegar and, onion powder.
  • Add them to the bowl
